I am thrilled to share that I’ve been invited to speak at an upcoming event in Sondrio on November 29, 2024. Organized by FutureAlps, this gathering focuses on a topic close to my heart: the future of the Alpine territories.
Living and working in the shadow of these mountains isn’t just a geographical choice; it’s a strategic one. However, as the world changes, so do the challenges facing our high-altitude communities and economies.
While the event will cover broad territorial trends, I’ll be stepping onto the stage to provide a “boots on the ground” perspective. Running a Small-to-Medium Enterprise (SME) has been one of the most rewarding—and demanding—climbs of my career.
I plan to dive deep into the lessons I’ve learned while navigating the unique ecosystem of the Alps, specifically:
- Resilience as a Business Model: How the rugged nature of our environment mirrors the grit needed to sustain a business today.
- Innovation vs. Tradition: Finding the “sweet spot” where we can respect our Alpine heritage while embracing digital transformation.
- The Talent Ascent: The realities of attracting and retaining skilled people in mountain territories and why “place-making” is just as important as “profit-making.”
