I am very proud of this new carousel I created in collaboration with MediaLocate, a client of mine based in California, to explore the biases and stereotypes present in large language models (LLMs) like DALL-E 3.
We tested DALL-E 3, an AI image generator developed by OpenAI, by asking it to depict the inhabitants of the 28 European Union member states, plus the UK. While the results are visually captivating, they highlight the biases and stereotypes that often influence AI systems.
We encourage you to browse through the carousel and leave us a comment with your perspective on the outcomes of this intriguing experiment. On the last page of the slideshow, you will find key takeaways from Stephan Lins, CEO of MediaLocate.
Clearly, this is a snapshot of AI image generators’ performance, which is rapidly evolving. The bias will be lower in the future, and the image quality will gradually improve.
